Señora Zuñiga's Spanish Class
Spanish 1In this course, our goal will be to acquire Spanish language. Most of our class time will be spent using Spanish to talk about interesting and important things in our lives and in the world. We will spend very little time learning about the Spanish language because the human brain is not designed to learn language in that way.We will listen to and read content to give our brain "food" to process and turn into language in our heads. We will do some speaking and writing, but those skills will come naturally as you take in more and more Spanish. This Spanish course is a Comprehension-based Spanish course. That means that I will be using methods and strategies that are based on the theory of linguistics and researchers such as Dr. Stephen Krashen and Bill Van Patten. We will use TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling) and modified MovieTalk, in addition to many other Comprehension-based activities.

¡Hola!
I'm the Spanish teacher at BJH. I am also the National Junior Honors Society sponsor. This is my 7th year teaching in Brownsboro. I'm a graduate from Brownsboro, so it is a blessing to be back to my home. I graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler with my Bachelors of Arts in Spanish. I love the Spanish language and the culture and can't wait to share that with my students. I believe that mistakes are learning experiences and they help us grow. I am looking forward to getting to know all my students and parents. Let's have a great year! #GOBEARSGO Tutorial TimesTuesday mornings from 7:30-7:55 am
